Mary Davey MRCVS
I'm Mary, I graduated from Dublin University over 20 years ago and have been working mostly in small animal practices ever since. I like that I get to follow my patients’ progress from the time we first meet through to their senior years. I get great satisfaction from educating owners about their pets' conditions and finding treatment plans to suit them, their pet and their budget. When I'm not at work I have a growing number of bee hives to look after along with five dogs, one cat, three tortoises and a growing herd of pygmy goats.
Sarah Akarsu Hughes
I'm Sarah, I have been with Ballymena Pet Vets since it first opened in 2019 as part of the nursing team. I have a keen interest in laboratory analysis and preventative parasite protection. You will usually find me helping out students with a coffee in hand. I have three cats. When I am not at work I enjoy fossil hunting and stargazing with my telescope.
Rebecca Hussain RVN
I’m Rebecca, I am a Registered Veterinary Nurse. I like to provide my patients with optimal patient care. I enjoy meeting clients and creating new bonds with their pets when doing my nursing consults. I have been with Ballymena Pet Vets since 2020 as a volunteer and have worked my way to becoming an RVN. I have a cat called Phoebe and a dog called Bella who both love cuddles. In my spare time I enjoy going for long walks with Bella and reading books snuggled up to my pets.
Janelle Davey
I'm Janelle, I have been working in Ballymena Pet Vets for over 4 years as receptionist/client care advisor. When growing up I always wanted to work with animals, and I love seeing all the pets coming into the clinic and helping them feel better. I have 3 cats Jake, Olive & Eddie and a rabbit called Ivy. In my spare time I enjoy baking, archery and experimenting with different fruits & spices to make homemade mead.
Abbie Lorimer
I’m Abbie. I joined the practice in 2023 as an Animal Nursing Assistant. In 2024 I began studying to become a Veterinary Nurse. In my spare time you would probably find me with my two dogs; Lola and Luna or with my rabbits Teddy, Einstein and Dennis.
Sophie Lowry
I’m Sophie, and I am currently studying Veterinary Care Support. I have been with Ballymena Pet Vets since 2024. I have three dogs, called Duke, Theo and Maggie. In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my dogs, and watching movies.
